Most people tend to be in at least a 60/40 situation. I think this probably comes from the amount of time it takes to master each skill-set and that they’re sort of different parts of the brain. Someone who is a very talented designer, regardless of the medium, might be very good at writing, say, JavaScript, but might not find it interesting enough to become an expert. The reverse is also true. There are definitely exceptions to the rule, but for the most part people tend to focus on their speciality.
